Okay so I apologise for the two pictures, when going to photograph the books I had forgotten that my boyfriend currently had the first one!

I have been obsessed with this series lately and I cannot wait to read more books associated with the Shadowhunter world!

The Infernal Devices is a prequel that Cassandra Clare brought out the her book series called the Mortal Instruments which I talked about before.

I dont want to give too much away about the books so I’ll try explain it the best I can!

They are a series of young adult fantasy books, but just because they’re in the young adult section doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy them any less! They are so well written and Clare does a really good job in the books.

The books are a trio and the reading order is Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and finally Clockwork Princess They are really well named and the names mean something and link in with the books which I find that rarely happens lately.

Following on from the Mortal Instruments the books are about the world of Shadowhunters, Faeiries, Werewolves, Vampires, Demons and much more! It follows the London institute and Clare tries to incorporate new London in with old, which is a nice mixture. Places in the books are based on actual places and I love when those touches are added in.

They do have different characters as they are set many years before and the three main ones are Will, Tessa and Jem Obviously, as with all books there are other main characters but this trio are the characters which are mainly focused on in the books.

These books really touched my heart and tears were shed. To me, they are a love story with bits of sadness, grief, anger, action and anticipation all thrown in.

They highlight the need for good friendship, trust and honesty. They’re really good books to show a young person that once you have these qualities in your life, the rest will fall in place and whatever happens, happens

The books are so captivating that you don’t want to put them down once you pick them up. I read the last book, Clockwork Prince in a day and my heart broke!

As I mentioned above, I believe them to be mainly a love story, but that doesn’t mean that boys can’t read them either my boyfriend has almost finished the first book and he hasn’t put it down in his spare time. So really, it appeals to both sexes!

It’s so hard to describe them without giving anything away so I’ll link to where you can but them on Easons and you can read their descriptions to get a more individualised description of each book: clockwork angel clockwork prince and clockwork princess

The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare

I ADORE these books. I only read the first one after I seen the movie, a bad ‘fan’ I know, but I actually didn’t know about the books until then. In the last week I read book 5 and 6. When you start reading them you don’t want to put them down. I am an avid reader anyway, and fantasy would be a world I live in.

These books are exciting because they mix the humans and all sorts of different supernatural beings called downworlders – vampires, werewolves, warlocks etc. They can be funny, sweet, romantic, sad, and thrilling.  Without giving too much away they follow Clary, a recently turned shadowhunter ( These are warriors as such, who protect the world from ‘downworlders’ )and her friends and family. Her struggle with her relationship with Jace, a mysterious and moody shadowhunter she met in a club called Pandemonium and changed her life.  There are so many twists and turns, I never expected anything that happened to happen.

I think that it would be very easy for someone who liked fantasy to get lost in these books. I read through them so fast, I was hooked, always needing to know what was going to happen.

The books come in an order, and you would have to read them in that order, they are: City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls. Today I found there will be sixth book next year called City of Heavenly Fire and I’ll admit I am delighted because I was actually sad when I finished the last one.

Cassandra also wrote prequels, which I am yet to read these are called The Infernal Devices  and another anticipated addition to the series are The Dark Artifices, to be published in 2015.

Have you read them? Tell me about what you think!

TV Show Time!

So, its that tie of year when a lot of tv series come back on air, yay! I only began watching a lot of my favourite programmes when I started to date my boyfriend and I’m glad he showed me new and different shows. I have a lot of shows I keep up with, and many start in the Fall. These are my favourite that started so far this year! Sorry for the crappy quality, all the photos I had decided to use look too big so I made a collage!

Revenge :  I love the scandal in Revenge. The storylines are always great, at the beginning of each season they show a midway point and you’re hooked because you want to know what happened, why and who was involved. It’s so easy to get addicted to! The romances are great too. It does keep me on the edge of my seat when watching it because you just don’t know what Emily/Amanda is going to do next!

Big Bang Theory :  I’ve loved this show since it started. It’s nerdy, I’m nerdy. I love the comic side of it and it’s just such an easy show to watch when you’re feeling down. It’s so quirky!

How I Met Your Mother : I only started watching the show this year, I know! I was gutted to find out that this was the last season. As above, its just such a funny show and the storylines are funny. I love Barney he’s hilarious. Ted and Robin annoy me though so…

Grey’s Anatomy :  This is another show I’ve watched for years.I find it addictive and I love the different events that happen in each season ( the big storm at the ed of season 9! ) There’s not much I can say about it really.

Once Upon a Time :  I love all things fantasy and fairy tale-y so this show is right up my street. It has lots of quirky spins on modern fairy tales ( Peter Pan is evil, Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk is a girl! )  I love seeing how they twist it. There are some funny moments and some on the edge of your seat ones. Its just great!

The Originals : Newly started the Originals is a sin off from the Vampire Diaries. Klaus I have loved since he came to TVD. They all have such great English accents and I’m excited to see how they make this series.

The Vampire Diaries : Hello Fantasy. I love this show, it always gets me so emotional. Like, I’d cry a lot. I am so attached to these characters and storylines. Its a world I love to live in and the constant Stefan or Damon dilemma is funny.

Supernatural : I’ve saved the best til last. The Winchesters are like my family I love Dean so much. The way he cares for Sam is so great to watch, ad Sam always feels like he’s dissappointing Dean.I’m really attached to this show, I get so emotional during it, angry, sad, you name it. It can be quite jumpy and gorey, to me it is, but its so captivating. The storylines are just phenomenal I think everyone should watch it.

Just look at Dean’s eyes:
