I know I’ve been away for a while and I know I keep using excuses but I literally have not had a minute to do all the college work I have, let alone think of blog posts! But I promise to post a lot more now, no more excuses.

Since were into March, and the weather has actually been sunny, it’s been very Spring-y. It’s still cold here in Ireland, so nail polishes are always a great way to transition your wardrobe and looks. I have lots of colours that I adore, but I managed to whittle it down to three. I’m not going to talk a whole bunch about them, just a quick over of what I think!

Barry M Mint Green Now Barry M and myself have a love/hate relationship in regards to nail polishes. I love this mint green colour, it’s so fresh and I feel like it goes with most things. It reminds me of the leaves growing back on trees, yeah, I’m weird. Barry M polishes are quite inexpensive. You can build up the colour or have it as sheer as you like. I think it’s just such a beautiful colour!

Essie Pink Diamond I adore pink, it’s my favourite colour! I love it all year round but this is such a gorgeous delicate pink colour, and again it’s easily build able so go as sheer or opaque as you like. It has a little bit of shimmer, but it isn’t laden with it. I think it’s just such a beautiful pink and I need to get more Essie polishes!

Rimmel Sunshine This is the brightest colour of the bunch! A lot of people wouldn’t use such a bright yellow colour but I love using it to add that pop of colour, especially in Spring/Summer! As with Barry M it’s a bit or miss with Rimmel, but this one I adore! These polishes are also inexpensive!

What are your favourite spring colours for your nails?

Thanks for reading..’Til next post!

Khaki Nails

So after seeing Joannaloves (http://joannaloves.com/  ) Khaki nail trend post the other day I just had to try it. I never would have thought of Khaki green for a nail polish, but I love it. I went to the chemist and the only polish they had was Maybelline Express Finish 40 polish. I was disappointed that it was the only one, because it would have been nice to compare products, but I was still glad they had one!

I’ve never tried the Express Finish range and I was impressed. The consistency was nice, it spread evenly and after two coats the colour looked gorgeous. And it’s lasted on my nails all weekend, what a shocker, no polish lasts that long on me! The green has shimmer going through it so it sparkles in the sun. I think this is a colour I will keep going back to.

Baking : Mini Muffins

So, I decided I’d bake some mini- muffins since I was out of work early, and I’d bought the mini muffin cases and I have been dying to make these for AGES! I hope you enjoy trying them, they are DELICIOUS.

Here’s the recipe I used:

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Decoration ( optional ) 15 minutes

Ingrediants:

1 3/4 all purpose flour ( plain flour )

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Any extras : bananas, blueberries, chocolate chips etc

Method:

Whisk all dry ingredients together.

Mix the egg, vanilla and oil. ( You would mix bananas here too! )

Combine wet and dry ingredients until almost mixed thoroughly ( add chocolate chips etc ) it’s important not too over mix – I think I did though!

Place in a lined baking tray at 357 Fahrenheit ( 190 Degrees Celsius ) until brown, this will take approx 10 minutes. I found it easier putting th emixture into an icing bag ( or a ziplock bag in my case ) as it was easier to fill the cases without being fiddly!

Decoration:

I decided to decorate mine as they are for the younger kids in my house so I just mixed Icing sugar with water, added a drop of pink food colouring to some, and green to another and used various sprinkles on top of that.

et voilà
