As always, I was looking for a new face wash. I did want to repurchase the Garnier one that I had been using but couldn’t find it and this. Toggle caught my eye. Since. I love the skin perfecting miracle cleansing oil, I thought I’d give this one a go.

It’s a purifying gel wash for combination to oily skin. It says it Removes impurities, helps unblock pores and reveals fresh clean skin

I use this wash both morning and night and it does feel really nice on the skin. It lather up so easily and you only need a small bit as a little goes a long way. It gives your skin a deep cleanse, without being too harsh.

It has helped to clear up my skin, but at the moment I’m having a really bad breakout which is upsetting. It has really helped control the oils on my face too, which I find is necessary with facial products.

It does leave your skin feeling fresh and clean and works really well for it’s price!

Garnier Fresh Clarifying Wash – Shine Be Gone

I’ve been using a new Facewash the past week or so and I can already say that I love it. It’s the Garnier Fresh Clarifying Wash – Shine Be Gone and it’s for oily to combination skin. There’s a chemist in my local town which always has great, affordable prices and most of the Garnier range they stock is all €2.79 which is amazing!

I have oily skin which has been breaking out pretty badly the last week or so and this wash has really helped keep all my pesky oil in check. It says it “refreshes and purifies pores” and has green tea and moringa extract within. Now usually, all the jibber jabber about ingrediants confuses me, I just want my face to be clean! Green tea is an amazing antioxidant for your skin and since I can’t stand the taste of it, I’m happy it’s in this face wash. From what I’ve read about moringa it moisturises, is good for blemish removal and prevents wrinkles. So these two ingrediants mixed together are great for your skin. I know my skin laps it up. It’s also gentle enough for sensitive skin which is amazing because you can have both sensitive and oily skin and I haven’t seen enough washes to combat those two problems.

As you can see from my third picture, it’s a clear gel consistency and is not too runny or too thick. I like my washes to be that in between consistency where it doesn’t run straight off your face, but doesn’t take forever to lather up either. This wash is great for clearing your skin, getting a really deep down clean everyday without being too harsh, tightening pores, controlling oil and everything you would want your wash to have.

Getting down to the sudsy stuff, you use it just like any other wash. You wet your face and then rub this on in circular motions. It foams up amazingly and feels so soft to rub it on your face. It has a nice, light scent which isn’t overbearing and doesn’t linger on your skin either. You can focus this more on your t-zone area; so your forehead, nose and chin areas. This is where I know my face gets most oily so it’s great to really work it into those areas. It says you could follow up with a moisturiser but I follow up with my other regular skin care items.

I really couldn’t recommend this wash enough. It’s so affordable and works so well!

Rimmel London Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

Image

I bought this one day when I realised my gel eyeliner had gone ganky because I hadn’t been using it. Before I bought this I bought an eyeliner marker but using that I realised it was the gel consistency I liked the best. I trawled the pharmacy’s on my way to work and this was the only one they had.

I love it, the consistency is great and although it’s only a tiny wee pot you get loads. It goes on so smoothly. It has great staying power, it lasts all day. Its very waterproof too. I’ve shed a few tears wearing it, but it stayed in place, perfect! I bought the shade 001 Black. You get a tiny brush in the lid of this so it’s all together which is so easy. You can create thicker and thinner lines with the brush and when you’re done just pop it back in.

Clean On Me & Hand Food Review

I know, I know, every single person has tried these products before, well they’re new to me. I was one of the unlucky few who hadn’t joined the cult yet, but here I am, and I am in love!

Image

So I’ll start with Clean on Me and can we just take a second to appreciate the smell of this shower gel? This has to be one of the nicest smelling shower gels of all time.  I love how this product lathers up so nicely and after use your skin is just so soft because of the built in body lotion but you also smell just so good. They recommend stopping your shower and lathering it upon your body with your hand, but I love lathering it up on my luffa and using it that way. You do only need a little bit so I think this bottle will last forever. I just love this product!

Hand Food is also one of the nicest products I have ever used. I’ve been using Cath Kidtsons hand cream for almost  a year now and this product is better in every way. Firstly the smell is a nice change and it lasts ages on your hands  ( on the tube it says shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow! ) . The fact its non greasy means it just soaks into your hands leaving them silky sooth and it doesn’t take forever to do that, unlike the Cath Kidston one. I never would have classed myself as someone who has dry hands, I just like the moisturising effect for the hand cream, and especially coming into this time of year it’s good to protect against dryness.

Lets just be honest and say that these two products are just so nice and I am pulled in completely to the Soap & Glory range!

LUSH HAUL

Okay, so I am a Lushie at heart. It all began watching Missglamorazzi on YouTube and her Lush haul made me want to buy EVERYTHING, and since then I wasn’t as nervous about what products I wanted to try from Lush and I feel confident in finding products that suit my skin type to try.  Now I love that shop, I always find something to try. The staff are always so helpful. So here’s what I bought yesterday and I will be reviewing these products as I use them.

1: Mask of Magnaminty is described “This peppermint mask does everything it can to fight eruptions and outbreaks and return your skin to tip top condition.” This is my favourite product from Lush so far. It can be used anywhere that you have an outbreak. It has a lovely minty scent and its so nice to have on your face. It has helped me fight breakouts so man times, by reducing redness and preventing more spots etc from coming up. I think everyone with oily/combination skin should give this facemask a go!

2: Ocean Salt is a facial csrub, but I use it on my legs before I shave too. There’s sea salt ( obviously ) limes and avocado in this face scrub, so while its cleaning deep down and exfoliating, it leaves your skin soft too. Don’t get any in your mouth because it’s disgusting. When you first open it you need to give it a mix through to make all the ingrediants blend together. It has a really refreshing smell too.  I find it is a really effective scrub!

3: Aqua Marina is a facial cleanser, and the first one I bought from Lush ever! Its describes as ” Our pink squishy cleanser that was inspired by mermaids. An ocean of ingrediants to soothe and calm the skin.” And they’re right its pink and squishy! To use it you pinch a small amount, use water to turn it into a past/ milky formula and wash your face as normal.  I don’t particularly like the smell, but I’m willing to look past it to give it a go!

4: Fresh Farmacy is another facial product that is new to me. Lush says “Want to avoid the pharmacy? Then try Fresh Farmacy first. This is like a calamine lotion, but in bar form.” I’ve heard it’s very good for people with acne so I’m willing to give it a go!

5: Honey I washed the Kids Okay so I didn’t really buy this, it was a sample given to me in the shop, but I have wanted to try this soap for a while and I’ve heard great things about it. It smells like toffee and honey, good enough to eat!

6: Sanata’s lip scrub My bubblegum lip scrub is almost out and this caught my eye. It tastes like cola bottles and has little love hearts in it! Needless to say that’s all it took for me to buy it!

7: American Cream I’ve wanted to try this for the longest time. It smells so sweet and that’s meant to last all day long! Because it’s double strength it’s supposed to be really conditioning, which the ends of my hair need.  I’m excited to try this.

8: Snow Fairy This smells like candyfloss, and is pink what other excuse do I need? They’re the two reasons I bought this product I’m not gonna lie.

9:Pink FUN This was another sample and from what I’ve read you can play with it like play dough and then use it for anything from washing yourself, to bubbles and even washing your clothes. It smells good too.

Lastly 10: Catastrophic Cosmetic was recommended to me by a shop assistant who fights acne. it smells so lovely. It’s just like blueberries! It goes on so smooth, and is very easily spread. You keep it in the fridge as it’s made with fresh ingrediants. Lush says “You know those times when you get one or two spots and it throws you into panic? Well, this mask is here to lend you a bit of perspective, to tell you to calm down, it’s not the end of the world and it’s nothing that can’t be sorted. Basically, this is your best mate in a pot.”

I can’t wait to try all of these out and share what I think with you guys!

Weekly Favourites – Beauty

So last week I noticed there was three products i wen to every day, no joke. One was a facewash that featured in My September favourites, a perfume and a shower gel.

So, starting with the shower gel, have you guys ever smelled Nivea’s Happy Time shower gel? You need to! its such a fresh fruity ORANGE scent and it is just so lovely to have as part of your morning shower routine. It leaves your skin hydrated so it’s not drying at all. And this just smells, SO GOOD.

Secondly Sheer by Matthew Williamson is just a lovely, subtle every day scent. Its described as “Top notes are ginger, lime (linden) blossom, green tea and bergamot; middle notes are magnolia, lily, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley; base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk and benzoin.” and all that just comes together to make one perfect day time scent!

And last of all, Clean and Clear Deep Action cream wash. I love deep cleaning face washes as I feel that they really do a great job at making sure that your face is completely clean. It leaves a refreshing tingle and has a fresh minty scent to it. The consistency is lovely, and your face is left so soft after. It has no oil so it helps control the oil in my skin and it takes away the shine. This product really exceeded my expectations and I am extremely impressed.
