As always, I was looking for a new face wash. I did want to repurchase the Garnier one that I had been using but couldn’t find it and this. Toggle caught my eye. Since. I love the skin perfecting miracle cleansing oil, I thought I’d give this one a go.
It’s a purifying gel wash for combination to oily skin. It says it Removes impurities, helps unblock pores and reveals fresh clean skin
I use this wash both morning and night and it does feel really nice on the skin. It lather up so easily and you only need a small bit as a little goes a long way. It gives your skin a deep cleanse, without being too harsh.
It has helped to clear up my skin, but at the moment I’m having a really bad breakout which is upsetting. It has really helped control the oils on my face too, which I find is necessary with facial products.
It does leave your skin feeling fresh and clean and works really well for it’s price!

I’ve been using a new Facewash the past week or so and I can already say that I love it. It’s the Garnier Fresh Clarifying Wash – Shine Be Gone and it’s for oily to combination skin. There’s a chemist in my local town which always has great, affordable prices and most of the Garnier range they stock is all €2.79 which is amazing!
I have oily skin which has been breaking out pretty badly the last week or so and this wash has really helped keep all my pesky oil in check. It says it “refreshes and purifies pores” and has green tea and moringa extract within. Now usually, all the jibber jabber about ingrediants confuses me, I just want my face to be clean! Green tea is an amazing antioxidant for your skin and since I can’t stand the taste of it, I’m happy it’s in this face wash. From what I’ve read about moringa it moisturises, is good for blemish removal and prevents wrinkles. So these two ingrediants mixed together are great for your skin. I know my skin laps it up. It’s also gentle enough for sensitive skin which is amazing because you can have both sensitive and oily skin and I haven’t seen enough washes to combat those two problems.
As you can see from my third picture, it’s a clear gel consistency and is not too runny or too thick. I like my washes to be that in between consistency where it doesn’t run straight off your face, but doesn’t take forever to lather up either. This wash is great for clearing your skin, getting a really deep down clean everyday without being too harsh, tightening pores, controlling oil and everything you would want your wash to have.
Getting down to the sudsy stuff, you use it just like any other wash. You wet your face and then rub this on in circular motions. It foams up amazingly and feels so soft to rub it on your face. It has a nice, light scent which isn’t overbearing and doesn’t linger on your skin either. You can focus this more on your t-zone area; so your forehead, nose and chin areas. This is where I know my face gets most oily so it’s great to really work it into those areas. It says you could follow up with a moisturiser but I follow up with my other regular skin care items.
I really couldn’t recommend this wash enough. It’s so affordable and works so well!

When we were in Newry recently I was so excited to see the Cupcake f
Fresh Facemask well stocked in their LUSH. In Dublin, I can never get it, and it’s quite upsetting because I was dying to try it!
So as you can see, the Fresh FaceMasks have smaller tubs, because they’re fresh, duh! They have a shorter use by date than other LUSH masks, or regular ones in general. That’s because they contain fresh ingrediants. This mask contains ingrediants like Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Butter, Glycerin, Spearmint & Peppermint Oils and lots more! I like how these masks don’t have a lot of gibberish in the ingredients list, and you can actually understand what they are! It makes putting them on my acne prone skin a lot easier.
This mask claims to be a chocolatey treat for your skin and to soften, tone and cleanse with a lineseed infusion, fresh mint and rhassoul mud Now I am a huge chocolate lover, and if I get to put it on my face as well as in my mouth, I’m happy. In the store this always smell so chocolatey and good. When I first opened this up at home my first reaction was This isn’t as chocolatey as the store I was so disappointed all I wanted to do was inhale the smell of chocolate! Of course I never really read the other ingredients and it confused me as to why this smelled of mint. Yup, I am really that clever!
So the first time I used it the smell was off putting, it didn’t meet my expectations but it did work wonders for my skin! I noticed it cleansed it really deep down and helped to clear up blackheads and blocked pores. This made me glad and not regret buying this.
I’ve used it a lot lately and I still love it, no wonder it’s all sold out! It really lives up to its hype about being the mask to go to when your skin is franking out and breaking out all over the place. My skin has been purging due to using my new Olay ProX and this mask has been a lifesaver Teenagers and acne sufferers alike will love how this mask works! It’s so soothing and calming on your face too, because it’s kept in the fridge.
It has two downturns for me and one is that it looks like poo on your face. Now this is obvious because it’s brown, like chocolate, but my brother doesn’t like it and thinks it looks gross. Secondly, if you don’t rinse your sink out properly after taking this off, it dries and looks like poo in your sink. This happened after the first time I used it because I was exhausted and not paying attention. I’m really gross, I know!
So really I couldn’t stop singing this mask praise, I really love it and hopefully it will become easier for me to get my hands on! Up in Newry, which is Northern Ireland this pot was only £5.95 which is so reasonable, and even when changed with the exchange rate is still cheaper than €’s, result!
I’d like to know what’s your favourite facemask?
Thanks for reading. ’til next post!
You probably started to look at this post and thought to yourself I’m hardly going to look through all these photos for a load of ramblings! Which as get so I’m glad you stayed 🙂
So, as the name suggests, my review is of the Brightening face Highlighter by MUA. I bought this as part of their sale and it cost me €4.85 which is very inexpensive. You can get it here ; http://www.muastore.co.uk/fashionista-skin-brightening-highlighter My iPad isn’t let me hyperlink for some reason so that’s annoying,
I’ve never used a highlighter before on my face, only ever on my eyes. I have quite oily skin so I tend to get shiny throughout the day so when I was thinking of using highlighters it really just put me off.
As you can see it says it is Perfect skin enhancer containing light-diffusing particles that deliver instant luminosity to your complexion. it isn’t over shimmery! and it’s actually so delicate (does that make sense?) that it wouldn’t come up In photos. That’s reassuring for people who have trouble with oily skin but want to highlight.
It’s a cream highlighter, and I’ve seen a lot of people using powder highlighters so I was a bit torn when buying but I said I’d give it a go. You can see in the image above its a peachy/goody/slightly bronze colour. I have amazing description skills I know. I think it’s a really beautiful colour and it gives off an amazing natural glow to your face, without you being over shimmery.
As you can also see, I take a tiny dot on three of my fingers, and to apply to my cheekbones I just rub it in wee circles and work it in to my skin. I found if it’s not rubbed in enough you are left with a line of product where it’s dried, so be careful! I’m sure you could use a sponge or a brush, but I haven’t ventured into those waters just yet. It says on the back to pat it into your cheekbones but my wee circles work just fine for me.
I do only use this product on my cheekbones as I have an eye highlighter that I use for my brow bones and my cuspids bow as I like the effect it gives and I’ve been using it for a number of months. I don’t think the two highlighters clash on my face, as I’ve said it looks natural.
Do you guys like highlighters? What ones are your favourites?

I’ve been using this daily since Christmas and I thought it was about time to do a review on it. So, as you can tell from the title it’s the Peaches & Clean 3 in 1 Wash Off Deep Purifying Cleanser. It’s half empty, because was using it both morning and evening for a few weeks. Then I went to just using it at night because I like a cleanser that keeps my oily shine more in check throughout the day.
I got this in my Yule Monty gift set, although if you were to go to the shop to buy it, it’s only 9.50 EURO which is really reasonable. The cleanser claims to have super t-zone decloggers, go juice, oxyginising technology, boosts circulation and to re-energise the skin. All that is a bit of a mumble jumble to me and I just decided to go ahead and try it.
I really do like it. My skin has been a bit better, but it doesn’t really declog my pores as well as I might have wanted but it does the job. I don’t use it straight on my face at the end of the day I always remove my make up before washing my face, so I can really get a deep clean. This cleanser leaves you feeling so refreshed after using it. Your skin does feel really clean which is what you would like in a face wash. My skin has been a bit brighter and less dull so it must be helping a bit!As with many Soap & Glory products this smells freaking amazing. It smells peachy, most definitely!
Soap & Glory are also quite a forgiving bunch as, in the directions they say go ahead and use both morning and night, or the morning after if you’ve done the nasty thing and slept with your make up on. It makes making mistakes a lot easier, not that I do very often.
It doesn’t particularly help with clogged pores, blackheads, spots, redness, to me. I’m used to using face cleaners with a more targeted approach to my skin. If you’re looking for a good, all round cleanser and have quite good skin, this is for you!

I have nowhere near great skin. I have my good and bad days, so does every other person. I suffered with acne, it’s cleared up a lot but I still have those times when my face just freaks out on my. These are the products I like to use on it when that happens.
St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub in Blemish Fighting I love this scrub. It’s gentle to use and you use it up to four times a week. I try use this three times a week. It smells so nice. This is a retro favourite of mine, though when I was 12/13 there was only the regular formula. It’s oil free, has salicylic acid in it. My skin feels refreshed after using this product. You only need a small bit of product each time so one bottle lasts ages, which makes it great value for money. It clears away the dead skin, blackheads and all the other crap and your face is so smooth after using it.
LUSH Mask of Magnaminty This face mask is my go to face mask for spots. You can use it on your face, back and shoulders if you need to. It spreads really well. It smells like peppermint it’s just good enough to eat. Originally called Big Boy Spots, over time it evolved into this wonderful face mask. It’s so cooling on the skin, so it’s lovely to apply to red, inflamed spots. It contains China Clay and Peppermint to clean deep down into the pores. It also contains Aduki Beans to exfoliate, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe your skin. It’s just the nicest face mask I have ever used.
LUSH Ocean Salt Ocean Salt is a great exfoliate. My skin feels so fresh after using it. The texture is nice to use with the mix of the chunks of salt within the other ingredients. The sea salt is soft while cleaning away everything blocking pores in your face. It contains loads of other beneficial ingredients such as avocado and coconut to hydrate the skin, meaning the mask doesn’t dry out your skin. Lime and vodka are also in the product, the two combined have anti bacterial affects which is great for doors, blackheads and clogged pores. Your skin is so smooth and not dry at all after use. It really clears the skin up.
Soap&Glory a Scrub Your Nose In It Another deep cleaning product. You take this to a damp t-zone, I apply it to my whole face though, and rub in circles. Then, you leave it on for two minutes to hive it time to work. It has loads of ingredients to soak up excess oil, clean deep into the pores and all things good for your face. It feels nice on and your face is smooth afterwards. It’s great for combination acne prone skin for clearing it all away using one product if you wanted to.
Soap&Glory No Clogs Allowed This is a self heating mask. You apply it to dry skin, wet your hands and scrub. You’ll feel it heating up, which I love and it turns blue. You then leave it for five minutes and wipe it if with a warm, wet washcloth. You can really feel it cleaning deep down into your pores. It helps to avoid breakouts. If use it on areas prone to blackheads you can notice the amount you get dwindles. As with all the other products your skin us do smooth after and with one use you should notice your make up just slides on the next day.
So I haven’t been able to blog (again) because I dropped my phone in water, and lost the use of my camera for a few days but here I am again!
Soto start I’ll do face products that I’ve used up the past few weeks:
T-Zone Facial Wipes: I adore these wipes, shine be gone! They help reduce breakouts and shine and I need all the help I can get. They’re really nice to use and remove make-up fantastically.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub in Blemish Fighting: I bought this back in January, its lasted a whole 11 months, so well worth the money ( it’s only 5.99! )This scrub is my favourite face scrub I love it. It smells nice, the exfoliating power is perfect and it does help with breakouts, I’ll need to get a new one soon!
Bubblegum Lip Scrub: I love this little gem. It’s so exfoliating and I haven’t had dry lips in months with this. I use it twice a day and my lips are so smooth. I replaces it with the new Santa’s lip scrub but the new one just isn’t as exfoliating. And bubblegum, yummy!
Body Products Next:
Garnier Intensive 7 Days Hydrating Lotion: I hated this product, I liked the one for dry skin but this one wasn’t moisturising at all. I used it up though but I definitely won’t be buying it again, I love cocoa butter too much.
Nivea Q10 Firming Body Oil: I use this for stretchmarks because I was kinda fat before and had bad stretch marks and this works a treat!
Herbal Essences Fresh Balance Shampoo: I adore this shampoo, I get really oily roots and this keeps them in check. It smells fresh, lathers great and keeps the oil at bay. I probably use this shampoo the most!
Boots Dry Shampoo: Everywhere was all sold out of Batiste so this had to do. It’s not spectacular, I didn’t like the smell but it done the job.
I go through so much mouthwash, I always suffer with sore throats/tonsilitis etc, so antibacterial mouthwash is my saviour, it keeps them at bay. I always use Listerine, I prefer it to all others.
So Kiss Me: I bought this for myself last December. I love the smell of this, I know its cheap but it’s gorgeous!
Cacharel Noa: I got this as a gift for my birthday last November and it is the nicest, most subtle day time scent ever. I really loved it.
I only noticed while I was taking the picture of the tub that it’s not Catastrophic Cosmetic and I have been calling it that since I bought it.
Another new Lush product to me and I adore it.
It’s a fresh face mask, so you keep it in the fridge and it does go off quite quicker than their regular face masks due to the fresh ingrediants, duh! Its made of blueberries and it smells delicious. To me it smells like the parma violet sweets. It also has, chamomile, Irish moss and calamine in it. You can see in the photo below that there are actual blueberries in the facemask, not just the essence or whatever they use.
I notice that redness is reduced if you have any breakouts afterwards, but int he photo of my ‘after ‘ face you’re going to say ‘It’s actually not’ but between me and you, Mount Vesuvius has taken refuge on my forehead and won’t budge. The texture is so lovely, it goes on really smoothly and spreads brilliant. Because it is kept in the fridge it feels nice and cooling on your face.
Its so easy to wash off, unlike a lot of other face masks. It leaves your skin so smooth and soft. It helps with breakouts too, without being too harsh because of the anti-oxidants in the blueberries.
I seriously recommend especially for the smell!
I don’t have perfect skin and you can see that below, I have had acne and I have oily skin and I am breaking out right now, but this face mask helps, especially with redness!
So last week I noticed there was three products i wen to every day, no joke. One was a facewash that featured in My September favourites, a perfume and a shower gel.
So, starting with the shower gel, have you guys ever smelled Nivea’s Happy Time shower gel? You need to! its such a fresh fruity ORANGE scent and it is just so lovely to have as part of your morning shower routine. It leaves your skin hydrated so it’s not drying at all. And this just smells, SO GOOD.
Secondly Sheer by Matthew Williamson is just a lovely, subtle every day scent. Its described as “Top notes are ginger, lime (linden) blossom, green tea and bergamot; middle notes are magnolia, lily, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley; base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk and benzoin.” and all that just comes together to make one perfect day time scent!
And last of all, Clean and Clear Deep Action cream wash. I love deep cleaning face washes as I feel that they really do a great job at making sure that your face is completely clean. It leaves a refreshing tingle and has a fresh minty scent to it. The consistency is lovely, and your face is left so soft after. It has no oil so it helps control the oil in my skin and it takes away the shine. This product really exceeded my expectations and I am extremely impressed.
