If you’re anything like me, which is super nosy, you’ll love reading these posts. I left it a while because there’s nothing really interesting to show you guys but I decided to do it anyway.
Beware this will be a lengthy post!
I’ve been using this pink Linea bag lately which I am in love with. It is pleather and has gold hardware which looks really classy. It has to handles but doesn’t have a long strap which is a quality I love in bags. It’s a nice shape and holds loads I bought this bag in a sale in House of Fraser last year for £30-35 and it was worth it!
It has loads of space. On the outside at the back there’s a wee zip pocket, there’s another one on the inside, a middle pocket, a phone pouch and another pouch and also the main compartment of the bag itself!
In the wee zipper pocket at the back, I usually keep my phone, some needles for my boyfriends insulin and any receipts, vouchers or lotto tickets I may have at that time. I throw crap into this pocket sometimes like packets of chewing gum tissues and lip balms.
On the inside in the wee zipper pocket I keep my house keys which have a tonne of key rings. This is because anywhere else they get lost! On the key rings there’s one from Wicked, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, photos and some club cards and also a cute hairbrush which is awkward to use to say the least!
In the phone and other pouch I throw small things like my key for work, bobby pins, bobbins and even more lip balms. If my asthma is particularly bad my inhaler goes here too!
In the big, middle zipped pocket I keep toiletries/medicine/random stuff. So right now I have a flu type thing so there’s some neurofen, sudafed, strepsils, motilium and anti histamine for hayfever. There’s my inhaler because I don’t need it as bad. A mini hair brush for when my hair is crazy. Some pens because I was using this for my college exams. Lipsticks because I usually have a thousand and one lip products in my bag. Deodrant because who wants to be smelly in work? And finally some tissues!
The main compartment is pretty much where everything else lives!
I live in Ireland so although it’s summer an umbrella is always needed In your bag.
I have my glasses for seeing and my sunglasses at all times. I don’t need glasses all the time just when reading or on a computer so they’re handy to have!
My purse at the moment is this cute Minnie Mouse one from the Disney store which was a gift from my boyfriend. It’s so classic looking and not at all child like. I keep the usual money and cards in here!
I have this make up bag from Pemneys with some wipes, anti bacterial hand gel, plasters, lady stuff, body spray, perfume and little bits in. I don’t know why I don’t put those stuff with the other random bits but it’s handier to whip out this way!
Lastly I have a make up bag to touch up my make up in work, which I rarely do. I have concealer, powder, blush, bronzer, mascara and eyeliner in here. The bag is so cute it has oranges on it and it’s not too big at all!
Thanks for sticking around! ‘Til next post!
Okay so I apologise for the two pictures, when going to photograph the books I had forgotten that my boyfriend currently had the first one!
I have been obsessed with this series lately and I cannot wait to read more books associated with the Shadowhunter world!
The Infernal Devices is a prequel that Cassandra Clare brought out the her book series called the Mortal Instruments which I talked about before.
I dont want to give too much away about the books so I’ll try explain it the best I can!
They are a series of young adult fantasy books, but just because they’re in the young adult section doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy them any less! They are so well written and Clare does a really good job in the books.
The books are a trio and the reading order is Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and finally Clockwork Princess They are really well named and the names mean something and link in with the books which I find that rarely happens lately.
Following on from the Mortal Instruments the books are about the world of Shadowhunters, Faeiries, Werewolves, Vampires, Demons and much more! It follows the London institute and Clare tries to incorporate new London in with old, which is a nice mixture. Places in the books are based on actual places and I love when those touches are added in.
They do have different characters as they are set many years before and the three main ones are Will, Tessa and Jem Obviously, as with all books there are other main characters but this trio are the characters which are mainly focused on in the books.
These books really touched my heart and tears were shed. To me, they are a love story with bits of sadness, grief, anger, action and anticipation all thrown in.
They highlight the need for good friendship, trust and honesty. They’re really good books to show a young person that once you have these qualities in your life, the rest will fall in place and whatever happens, happens
The books are so captivating that you don’t want to put them down once you pick them up. I read the last book, Clockwork Prince in a day and my heart broke!
As I mentioned above, I believe them to be mainly a love story, but that doesn’t mean that boys can’t read them either my boyfriend has almost finished the first book and he hasn’t put it down in his spare time. So really, it appeals to both sexes!
It’s so hard to describe them without giving anything away so I’ll link to where you can but them on Easons and you can read their descriptions to get a more individualised description of each book: clockwork angel clockwork prince and clockwork princess
I’m so annoyed I had to write this but there’s nothing that can be done about it!
The blog will be MIA for this week but hopefully not next week. My laptop is just frazzled, I don’t know what happened all of a sudden. I’m trying to fix it and am currently writing this off my iPad but I much prefer writing longer posts on a laptop.
There’s also some stuff going on and I’ve been run down so hopefully by next week, myself and the laptop will be better!
Thanks for reading guys!
I wanted to do kind of a rambly, chatty post today and I hope it’s okay with everybody! It’s really going to be me explaining my delight at finishing my second year in college. Second year! I honestly don’t know where this past academic year has gone, let alone 2014! It feels like I blinked last September and poof we’re here!
I study Social Care in college and basically I can work with any sector so from babies up to elderly people and in all types of situations such as care homes, addiction, disabilities, Juvenile Liason Officer, and much, much more! I always knew I wanted to work with children and young people, in particular I wanted to be a teacher.Something in my final year of secondary school made me change my mind though and I’m so glad it did.
Second year has been tough and there has been many angry, sad, exasperated, exhausted and frustrated days had. I was on placement for the first semester and I didn’t particularly enjoy it so i thought going back to lectures would be better. Wrong. It was so hard to get back into the swing of things and honestly, I just have not cared one bit. Yeah, I was worried a bit but really, I’m just glad to be on my Summer holidays. However the weather in Ireland isn’t particularly nice, boo!
To start off my holidays I done a serious amount of baking because I had been looking forward to having time to bake since Christmas! I baked vanilla sweet shop cupcakes, teacup cupcakes and strawberry and I’ll add some pictures in below!
I’m also doing a Mini Marathon which is 10k in 11 days and I’m doing it for Team Diabetes Ireland as it is a matter close to my heart as my boyfriend was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just weeks before we started going out back in 2011 so i got my pack in the post and I’m excited!
Thanks for reading my blabbering. ‘Til next post!
I’m no means a hiker, but on Easter Sunday, I know delayed post or what, myself and my boyfriend went hiking in the Mourne Mountains. Ireland has some of the most beautiful landscapes, and you can see that in the amazing show that is Game of Thrones. We often go on weekends away to Carlingford, a little village in North Eastern Ireland. It’s so close to the border of Northern Ireland and is bordered by the Mourne Mountains.
We packed up a picnic and made our way up the mountain. It was a truly beautiful day and the heat was unreal. The views were outstanding, it was the first time I had even gone hiking. We didn’t expect it to take almost 4 hours whatsoever. We walked through forests and higher up the mountains and ended up at Slieve Foy picnic area. On the way back we weren’t expecting to be ‘proper’ hiking through sludge, over stones and on top of forests. It was an experience all right.
The view and sights were truly breathtaking. honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect but it always surprised me. I think that on a clearer day, which is a bit brighter, the views would be even more beautiful.
I can’t wait to go again and do a different trail! I think we’ll be more prepared when this day comes, we know what to expect now!
Do you guys like hiking or mountain climbing?
Check out some of my pictures and I’ll see you in the next post!
Now, I may be jumping right on to the old bandwagon here, but I, like most of you guys is trying to be a bit more healthier. I’m not doing it for anyone else but myself, I’m not even setting a target weight. If I tell you guys though, I have > to stick with it!
I really enjoy exercise and I do workout at least 3 times a week for 45 minutes a go. I do a class called HIIT and basically it’s high -intensity interval training. We do our regular warm up and then pick a point on the circuit. You spend 30 seconds at each station and then you move on. Sounds easy? It’s really tough! Last week we had a 19 station circuit and doing that 3 times really took it out of us! Anyway, each class, the circuit changes so it’s never ever the same. The exercises are all a mix of cardio, strength and plyometrics (which is a fancy word for jumping basically!) so a normal circuit would have some sort of weights exercise, abs, trx and cardio. There are loads of benefits to a HIIT workout, and those are: you burn more calories and burn more fat throughout the workout, you burn more fat 24 hours after the workout!, you higher your metabolism, have a healthier heart and I’m sure there’s tonnes more.
You can see a fat burning example of HIIT here
On days where I’m not doing that, I’ve been going cycling, and using some exercise machines that we have by our beach. I do 8 minutes on the rower, 15 minutes on the cross trainer, leg presses, the surfer – which is for abs, shoulder press and chest press. And then I cycle back home. I’ve been doing this because I enjoy it, I love the beach and they are usually empty. I plan on doing it a lot more in the Summer, but with studying for exams it’s hard to have time for everything!
I’m not exactly going on a diet either. I know what you’re probably thinking, I’m not giving it my all. I find it extremely difficult to stick to a diet, or healthy eating regime. So I’ve decided that I would just phase out the junk, chocolate and crisps. Even if I cut back on that I’d be so happy. I do want to snack healthier because that’s my downfall. When I’m bored I eat crap, then feel horrible about it. I want to drink more water, I do get at least 2 litres a day anyway, I just want to keep that up. Try to have whole grain when I can- you know pasta and rice and stuff.
I like cute, motivational pictures. I’m not a fan of getting pictures of stick thin girls with a flat stomach to be my target. So here are some of my favourites!
And that’s the end to my rambling! Is anyone else trying to be healthier?
Thanks for reading. ’til next post!
So again, I’m branching away from beauty products. What do you guys think of posts like these?
Anyway, I know candles don’t particularly excite others as much as me. But this is the first ever candle I’ve owned at home and have been allowed to light whenever I want and in my bedroom. I know, I’m 19 buts that’s the truth! My mam always was a bit apprehensive of candles and as she isn’t a huge candle lighter, she never understood why I love them so much.
I love them because they are so calming, the scent ranges are just fantastic and they kind of remind me of Harry Potter because there were freakin’ loads of candles around Hogwarts!
I’d always take a wander into shops and smell all of their candles and be so annoyed I couldn’t have any at home. I especially love the Yankee Candles and me and my wee brother love going in and smelling them!
I got this as a gift from my boyfriend when we were in Newry a few weeks ago. We went to a Yankee Candle shop and hello, I was in heaven! I knew there were Yankee Candle shops, but I never saw one in Ireland before! It was on sale for £12 I think which is really good value because it is the largest jar. I can’t wait to get another one!
It’s black cherry scented which I love! I bought my mam the oil burner version of this. It she hardly ever used it, I was raging! I love how it fills up our bedroom and I find it so therapeutic, especially whilst doing assignments or generally when I feel down.
I am just so excited to finally be allowed light candles in my bedroom, does that mean I’m maturing, I dunno? It’s the little things in life that make me happy!
Do you have a favourite candle scent?

I decided to update my skincare routine for all you lovely people, because I’m pretty sure I’ve changed it quite a bit. These are the products that I use on my skin every morning and evening, so I do use masks, exfoliates and other stuff sometimes.
I like to keep it organised into this wee basket because in the mornings, when it’s early no I’d rather be sleeping, I just grab the basket and have all the stuff I need, so it makes my mornings a lot easier. As you can see in my second photo, all the products I use slot in perfectly, so it’s great. Plus, it looks cute on my dresser!
So I guess I’ll drive right in and talk about the two face washes I use everyday and love. In the mornings, I prefer to use a more mattifying, oil controlling face wash because my skin is super oily and that’s not an attractive look throughout the day. I have really been loving this Neutrogena Pore & Shine Daily Wash The wash has an extremely fresh scent, which is always perfect for waking me up each morning. It’s really refreshing and puts me in a good mood. It foams up really well and my skin always feels so clean after using this. It controls my shine and oil whilst keeping me matte. At night, I usually use a soft wash, but recently I’ve been loving this Olay Pro X Exfoliating a renewal Cleanser I got this with my Olay Pro X facial cleansing system which I will talk about and it’s a really amazing wash. It gets your skin nice and clean. It smooths your skin and really is a fantastic Facewash. It takes all the dirt from during the day off my face so I like that.
I always use the Simple Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser I have really huge pores so this just helps to keep them in check. It takes two seconds to do, put some on a cotton pad and use upward strokes on your face and your good to go. It helps remove any dirt my wash didn’t and minimises your pores. I’ve really been loving this since last October and I use it both morning and evening. Another product I use both morning and evening is the Garnier Fresh Essentials Toner I used to love the rose water toner but this one does such a good job at brightening my complexion, especially because after winter my skin Is so dull. It’s really refreshing to use and again takes two seconds. It has a fresh scent, but it’s not heavenly scented so it’s really light.
To remove my make up I have been loving the 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil this does the best job at removing male up, I keep wanting to try others t I always go back to this. Seem people don’t like the thoughts of smearing oil across their face, especially if you have oily skin, but it doesn’t leave you greasy at all. I just rub it onto dry skin in circular motions then add a bit of water to it and finally rinse it off. It removes every last trace of make up and leaves your skin so soft! In the nighttime I have been really loving my Olay Pro X Facial Cleansing System this has made me not need my acne cream any more which I am so excited about. My skin is purging a little bit at the moment but I can really see the benefits. It’s so relaxing as well, and you know your skin is getting cleansed really deep down. I think that if anyone has really bad skin, but acme medication is too expensive to get every month, because I know it can be pricey, investing in one of these will save you a tonne of money!
And lastly my moisturisers and cream. These are probably boring but in the morning I use my Johnsons Oil balancing Light Day Cream I love this I’ve been using this moisturiser for months now and it has done wonders for my skin. It gives it the moisture it needs without making it excessively oily or greasy. It absorbs quick and because you only use it in the day, the tube lasts ages. It’s the same with my Johnsons Oil Balancing Night Gel Cream this has done wonders for me. It is a bit more moisturising than the day cream, which is ideal because your skin repairs itself when you’re asleep. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel heavy for the nighttime. On my eyes, in both morning and evening I use my Benefits It’s Potent I love this eye cream. I don’t use it for anti aging or anything, I’m too young for that, it’s a brightening eye cream. I get bad dark circles but since I began using this they have been ten times better. It really does brighten your eye area and a few minutes after you apply it you start to see it. It’s so amazing and the pot lasts ages too!
Well that’s my updated skin care routine, sorry it’s not more exciting!
Thanks for reading. ’til next post!
So, I began my Semester 2 in my second year on Monday and already I have my little wake me up kit. This comrises of all skin care products that help me become more of a person and look less like zombie in the early mornings.
So I wake up at 5:50 and I was my face. Usually I like to use a more specific Facewash, to keep oily and shine at bay throughout the day. Usually in the morning I use either my green clay soap which I bought at the Belfast Christmas Market or my Fresh Farmacy from LUSH which is just amazing. These are both fantastic products to use in the morning.
I bought a new Neutrogena face wash on sale and first impressions have been good so I’m happy to try this out this week. It smells so fresh. I’ll also review it too!
After I was my face I usually use my Simple Pore minimising Cleanser on a cotton pad and I’ve been using a new Grape Extract toner from Garnier and I have been loving this too. It’s fresh scent makes it nice to use in the morning to feel fresher.
Next comes moisturiser and I use my Johnsons Light Day cream and my Benefit It’s Potent which works wonders on dark circles and my eyes are so much brighter afterwards.
I scrub my lips with Bubblegum lip scrub.
I use my Butter Yourself body lotion which has a fresh scent and I need to moisturise in the morning. I also use my Sure Ultra Dry Cotton roll on deodorant because it works well.
If I need to use Dry shampoo to refresh my hair a wee bit I use Batiste Original and if I’m using heat styles I use my Guardian Angel heat protectant.
I love using my Hand Food in the morning to smooth my hands
And finally for perfumes swap it up this week I’ll use Escape and Tommy Girl
